FAQ.

1. What about the poop?

Great question! Our donkeys wear discreet, custom-fitted manure bags (aka “bun bags”) during events. These catch any droppings so there’s no mess. We also always have a handler on-site to clean up just in case. Your venue stays pristine.

2. Can the donkeys carry alcoholic drinks?

Due to state laws and liability, we only carry non-alcoholic beverages like mocktails, soda, water, or pre-packaged snacks. However, you’re welcome to set up a separate bar for alcoholic options nearby.

3. Do the donkeys bite or kick?

Casper and Murphy are gentle, social, and professionally trained for events. They’re used to being around people (including kids!) and have never bitten or kicked anyone. A trained handler is always with them to guide interactions.

4. What if it rains?

We watch the weather closely. If there’s light rain, we may still be able to attend under cover. For severe weather, we’ll work with you to reschedule or offer a partial refund depending on the situation. Safety always comes first.

5. Can the donkeys come indoors?

Generally, no—they’re happiest and safest outdoors. Some venues with large barn-style interiors may allow it, but we’ll need to discuss it in advance with the site and do a safety check first.

6. How far do you travel?

We’re based in Litchfield County, CT, and will travel up to 60 miles for events. Further travel may be possible for an extra mileage fee—just ask!

7. Can I decorate the donkeys?

Absolutely! We offer custom floral garlands, themed accessories, and signage that match your event vibe. You can also provide your own decorations—we just ask that everything be safe, comfortable, and pre-approved by us.

8. How long do the donkeys stay at the event?

Most bookings are between 1–2 hours, which is the sweet spot for the donkeys’ comfort and guest engagement. Extended hours are available upon request for an additional fee.

9. Are they loud or disruptive?

Nope! Mini donkeys are quiet and calm animals. Casper and Murphy might let out a soft bray now and then (which guests love), but they’re not disruptive and are used to music, laughter, and event noise.

10. Can guests pet or take photos with the donkeys?

Of course! That’s half the fun. As long as the donkeys are comfortable, guests are welcome to pet them, pose for photos, and say hello. We only ask that small children be supervised, and that no one pulls on their gear or ears.

11. Do you have insurance?

Yes. We carry full liability insurance for all public events, including weddings, private parties, and corporate functions. If your venue requires a certificate of insurance (COI), we’re happy to provide it—just let us know in advance.
